Vortex was contracted to install a 36,000 sf addition to an existing warehouse at Agri Supply's direct shipping facility in Micro, NC.  This project was completed in 2006.

Completed for the City of Raleigh in 2006, the restroom building at Biltmore Hills Park was constructed as a public facility for the park patrons.  The building utilitized split face CMU block for the exterior with an anti-graffiti coating for easy maintenance.

Located in Rocky Mount, NC, Creekside Crossings is a 10,000 sf retail center consisting of spaces sized from 800 to 2,500 square feet.  This project was completed in 2006.  The building utilitizes a pre-engineered steel frame with a synthetic stucco (EIFS) exterior.

Vortex Construction completed the new 2,800sf office for the Dunn Housing Authority in the Fall of 2010.  The building consisted of a metal framed structure with a wood truss roof.  The exterior utilized brick and standing seam metal roofing.

In 2009, Vortex Construction completed a new 100,000 sf warehouse facility for Direct Distributors in Micro, NC.  The facility utilized a pre-engineered metal building system with long span roof beams to allow for heavy forklift traffic.  Translucent ceiling panels were also used to take advantage of natural light and conserve electricity.

Vortex Construction was contracted to replace the windows in both the Harvey and Broughton buildings on the Dorthea Dix Campus.  Both buildings were constructed in the 1940's and the existing windows were original.  New aluminum windows were used to replace the existing with all efforts made to match the aesthetics of the original.

Fairway Village is a 15,000 square feet shopping center located in Southern Pines, NC.  The project consisted of a metal stud/structural steel frame, wood roof trusses, shingle/metal roof combination, EIFS and masonry veneer.  Tenant spaces range in size from 1,200 square feet to over 6,000.  Two more phases are planned for this center that will add another 55,000 square feet.

The Greystone Recreation Center is the first project in a new concept by the City of Raleigh's Parks and Recreation Department.  In an effort to reach out to different parts of the city, the P&R department is going in and building neighborhood recreation centers for the surrounding communities to enjoy.  The project features an indoor playground complete with a rock climbing wall, two classrooms, and a dance studio/meeting room.  The center is staffed full-time and can accomodate over 400 people.

Hammock's Coffee is located on TW Alexander Drive in Durham.  Vortex completed the upfit of the space in 2006.

Located in the new Park West Village Shopping Center in Morrisville, NC, Jay Andrews - AVEDA Salon is an upscale, full service salon and spa.  The project utilized an open ceiling design with floating soffits, dark colors and modern artwork to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere.  A high quality laminate flooring was installed throughout with a laser cut logo at the front entrance.  With a great looking space, high quality services, and an outstanding staff, this new location is sure to be a hit with the local community.

The Elsee Building renovation project at Johnston Community College in Smithfield, NC was completed in 2006.  The project consisted of replacing all the existing flooring and ceilings with new, as well as, installing new doors and paint throughout.

This is the seventh location for La Cocina and it is located in the White Oak Shopping Center in Garner, NC.  The space is 5,000 square feet and included a full kitchen with built in coolers and freezer.  The front entrance has a sixteen feet high ceiling with a bronze chandelier to welcome patrons.  The decor is a mixture of spanish influenced lighting fixtures and authentic mexican artwork.  The project was completed in January of 2009.

Completed in 2005, this 4,500 sf restaurant constructed in Smithfield, NC was the fifth restaurant in the La Cocina chain.  Located in the Wal-Mart shopping center off of Hwy. 301, La Cocina is a local favorite for authentic mexican food.

Located in the new North Hills Shopping Complex, McAlister's Deli is a 3,700sf upfit completed in early 2005.  This space was one of the first to open in the newly remodeled North Hills.  With ceramic tile floors throughout and warm atmosphere, McAlister's is a hot spot at lunch and dinner.

MCW Grading and Excavating is a local grading contractor located in Wendell, NC.  Vortex was contracted to construct their new office.  The building is 3,750 square feet and was constructed using a pre-engineered building package.  The interior consist of offices, bathrooms, conference room and shop area.

Reins From Above is a non-profit equine facility located at Millstream Farms in Kenly, NC.  RFA strives to help disabled and handicapped patrons by providing equine-facilitated activites to enhance physical and mental skills, aid in mobilization, and promote socialization and communication.

As a donation to this great organization, Vortex Construction built the new horse barn facility at cost.  The new barn is a wood framed, pole-barn style structure with a metal roof.  The 6,250sf layout consist of 15 horse stables, two wash bays, two tack rooms, an office, two restrooms, and a hay storage area.

Located on Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh, this State Farm office consisted of a 1500 sf upfit in an existing shopping center.

Completed in December of 2008, this stand alone building was constructed to house a Subway restaurant.  The building is located at the corner of Edwards Mill Road and Ed Drive in Raleigh.  The project consisted of building an 1,800 square feet brick and Hardi siding building complete with sidewalks, landscaping and dumpster enclosure.
