The Design/Build process is a team approach to design and construction.  Vortex teams with a local architect and engineering firm to take a client’s project from an idea to handing them the keys.  This approach allows the team to work together to design what the client wants, while keeping the costs within the budget.  This design/build process differs from a conventional bid by allowing the contractor to provide pricing feedback on decisions during the design phase.  The conventional bid process does not allow the owner to know what the cost of the project will be until after the design is complete and bid out to a contractor.   If the project comes in over budget, the owner then has to spend additional money to have changes made to the design and then bid the project again.
